Zebra TLP2844 Not Calibrating
Zebra TLP2844 Not Calibrating? There are a couple things we can take a look at when your TLP2844 desktop printer won’t calibrate. The media being loaded properly and the cleanliness of the printer are the top reasons for a desktop printer to lose its calibration.
TLP2844 printers can be utilized in thermal transfer and direct thermal printing. Thermal transfer mode requires both ribbon and labels to produce an image while direct thermal only requires labels. Be sure to follow the instructions located inside the printer or in the operator’s manual linked below when loading media.
Once the media is loaded properly we will focus our attention on the media sensor. The media sensor is located in both the top and bottom of the printer and the 2 sensors work in conjunction to calibrate different types of media. The most common type of label has a gap between each label and is a good indicator of whether your printer is calibrated or not as the printer should stop on the tear line in between each label. If your printer is not calibrating, even though the media is loaded properly, then it’s time to inspect the label path for debris. Remove any stuck labels, blow out the dust and wipe down any other dirt or label glue residue that may have accumulated. It’s this debris that will cover the sensor and prevent the electronics from getting a good calibration.
Still unsure after checking the media was loaded properly and the label path is good and clean? Then send it on in to BCTP and have one of our trained professionals take a look and we’ll return a free quote!
